The climate is still extraordinarily mild, the leaves colour of red and yellow the gray sidewalks, our clothes continue to cover us with coloured fabrics and joy. It’s a really fanciful fashion that of autumn 2018, all intent on transitioning summer vibes into the coldest months, through prints and patterns ranging from animalier to checks, from the floral dress to the patchwork one. Because of its versatility, it meets the most different tastes. And among all his interpretations, the floral dress is definitely the most popular and easy one to wear for the over 40 woman. I have chosen some really simple outfits and I’m inviting you to wear them, to let the blacks and grays rest still for a while at the bottom of your closet.
The floral dress and the wool cardigan
This combination is becoming part of my preferred must have items, so romantic and warm at the same time. The femininity expresses itself through the light fabric and the floral print and matches perfectly the thickness of the wool cardigan, in a unique and special mix. What they have in common is the choice of the colour, made according to the same shades or by contrasting tones, above all for those who cannon really do without the black cardigan. In that case go for shoes or ankle boots, black too, playing in contrast with the printed dress’ main colour, cream, powder, white or pink.

When the air becomes crisper, there is a tendency to abandon shoes for boots. The ankle-sock in the same patter of your dress or in a similar shade is a trendy and comfortable solution at the same time. The most suitable shoes are the Mary Jane or those with the T-strap, with medium heels, perfect for spending long hours away from home.

This time the flowers are in the weave of the fabric and not in the print, in a beautiful macramé lace, which is so perfect for daytime outfits. The total cream or pink look is definitely too much and needs different style and colour’s accessories, such as the cowboy boots and the denim jacket, so sporty for the kind of fabric, so feminine for the shaped style.
The long floral dress and medium-heeled ankle boots
How many times have you felt inadequate wearing a long floral dress this season? It happened to me, just with the dress you see in the picture. I did not understand which shoes to wear, how to cover me so as not to feel cold. So I adopted my mix and match strategy, and combined different styles by adding the biker jacket, a very sports and casual item, but in this case in a delicate shade, the powder pink that matches well with the dress pattern. I added the ankle boots too, middle heeled, for a nice result. If I had used more feminine shoes and the elegant shaped jacket, I think I would have really looked too formal and older!
