(Photo by Pinterest) How to recycle those clothes we do not wear anymore? Sometimes there are items of clothing that you buy under the effect of a strange influence that disguises itself behind the message “Don’t miss out on it!”. For the trendy color, for the classic style that you will wear again and again. Not to mention the price that immediately brings you to the checkout, the feeling about having stolen the last available size from the customer who arrived shortly after you.

At home, however, you understand that you have purchased yet another anonymous sweater that risks aging under the pile of the fantastic most popular pieces you already have in the wardrobe. But its destiny won’t end there, we women, over 40 and over 50, never give up, even when faced with the wrong purchases. Perhaps because this philosophy of the circular economy is really taking hold in our hearts. And we are sure that the sweater will change, it will take a new shape after understanding how to recycle it.

How to recycle your sweater with a trendy collar
This year, then, it is fashion itself that offers us the best solutions to give a new life to our dull sweater. The detachable collars, in the most varied styles, are so trendy, from those we used on school aprons in primary school, to those with studs and pearls. Not to forget, then, the faux fur collars stolen from our winter jackets, or those in Victorian style, in lace. You can combine different fabrics, different colors, look for the right collar to create a unique style in the look, which can be romantic on the light notes of precious and light fabrics, or rock and military suggested by the decorations that embellish it.

Alternatively, you could also opt for a refined scarf, tied in a bow, a colored silk scarf, which decisively elevates your sweater. Or even for a showy necklace with coloured beads and stones or a chunky chain necklace, which are so trendy this fall.
How to recycle it with decorated fringe trims
Staying on the subject of how to recycle a basic and simple sweater, I cannot but think of fringes too, which I love, and which are still all the fashion this fall. On the sweater, you can create and sew a horizontal decoration some centimeters below the collar. There are gorgeous beaded fringe trims, some with pearls, some with thin silk threads that you can find in haberdashery, which well refine the sweater. And if your garment has a boat neckline, you might think about sewing the trim right at the edge of the neckline.

Alternatively, if you have a boxy sweater, a bit short and not to large, you can sew a long fringe trim at the hem, from the hips down, to elongate the sweater. I like this look, you can wear it over the shirt dress, for a very trendy and original outfit!

I really hope I have given you some tips on how to recycle your sweater! Have a great day dear readers!
